2016 AFRIMA award-winning Cameroonian singer Wax Dey has announced a new album this coming April, to be released by Muthaland/Calabash and distributed by major label Universal Music in South Africa.
Titled ‘FINAL LIGHT’, this will be the Cameroonian star’s second urban music album. According to his publicist Clarisse Ndinge, the album will have a more pronounced RnB and hiphop direction, although it will maintain his unique brand of West, Central and Southern African urban fusions. It will also include some tracks from his 2016 Cameroonian release ‘360 Degrees’ for which he won an AFRIMA award for Best Male Artist in Central Africa. The album will feature major African stars such as Minks, Nasty C, Uzzy, Cassper Nyovest, Yemi Alade, Banky W, as well as Cameroonian legendary diva Annie Anzouer.
Muthaland also announced the release of a new single off the album titled ‘Ladysmtih Black Mambazo” featuring Muthaland/Ghetto Riff-signed South African rapper, Young Scar, to drop on Friday 24 February. The upbeat Hip hop song is Wax Dey's tribute to hardworking and successful Africans such as Samuel Eto’o, Fela Kuti and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It is a follow up to the hit R&B ballad ‘360’ on which he features South African rap sensation Nasty C.
